Book Review: A Generous Orthodoxy Part 1 of ??

I have recently finished reading A Generous Orthodoxy by Brian McLaren. AKA the book with the long subtitle: Why I Am a Missional, Evangelical, Post/Protestant, Liberal/Conservative, Mystical/Poetic, Biblical, Charismatic/Contemplative, Fundamentalist/Calvinist, Anabaptist/Anglican, Methodist, Catholic, Green, Incarnational, Depressed-yet-Hopeful, Emergent, Unfinished CHRISTIAN.

I would highly recommend this book for: those Christians who can handle learning from people that they don't always or even normally agree with, for non-Christians who think the Religious Right is the only speaker for Christianity, and especially for people who have grown up in conservative Christianity and realize that it has flaws.

I would not recommend this book for: conservative or fundamentalist Christians who aren't willing to consider that, just possibly, that their interpretation of scripture may not be completely right, for those who can't handle their beliefs being questioned, and for those who consider conservative/liberal to be a synonyms/antonym for good/bad.

I plan to spread my review of the book out over ?? blog entries, of which this is the first.
