Not really sure why, but I've always been a fan. Maps can show alot of different things.

i like the pop vs coke vs soda map, i think that is my fav. i say coke.
Maps are great, especially the historic variety. I grew up in Pennsylvania, which is right on the soda/pop divide. Growing up, my dad liked to use pop and my mom soda, though sometimes I think my dad just did it for effect. ;)
I normally say soda myself, even though I've lived most of my life in coke territory and was born in pop territory.
