Bookmooch is a site that I've been using. Basically, you mail people (who request them) books, and then you get points that you can use to requests books yourself. It free to request a book (other than it using up a "point"), and you can send a paperback via media mail in the U.S. for $1.59.

You can find some books on there that you're not likely to find anywhere else. And since you're sending books to people who have specifically ask for that particular book , you're know they're going to a good home.
